Art and Laraine Bennett
Laraine Bennett has a B.A. in philosophy from Santa Clara University and an M.A. in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Laraine is a freelance writer for several online Catholic publications including the Catholic Match Institute and the Augustine Institute’s Catholic Parent Blog. Together with Art, she has co-authored three popular books on temperament (The Temperament God Gave You, The Temperament God Gave Your Spouse, and The Temperament God Gave Your Kids), The Emotions God Gave You and A Year of Grace: 365 Reflections for Caregivers.
Art Bennett is President and Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Arlington. As vice president for Science Applications International Corporation he managed international mental health programs for 15 years. He was also Founder and Director of the Alpha Omega Clinics in Maryland and Virginia and created Unity Restored, a website designed to help those afflicted by pornography. He is licensed as a marriage and family therapist in two states, has more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field, and is a frequent speaker on marriage and family issues.
The Bennetts have been married for 36 years and have four children — one of each temperament. They are now doting grandparents and currently live in northern Virginia.
