The Advent wreath is traditionally made of evergreens in a circle, symbolizing God’s everlasting, unending love. There are four candles — three purple and one pink — that count down the weeks until Christmas. The first, a purple candle, is lit four Sundays before Christmas. Another purple candle is lit three Sundays before Christmas. The pink candle is added two Sundays before Christmas, and all four candles are lit on the final Sunday before Christmas.
