Claim Your Heritage
In both the Old Testament and the Gospel we see a Davidic king handing on his legacy to his heirs. David was promised that one of his heirs would always be on the throne of Israel and prepares his first successor, Solomon, to carry on his kingly line. Jesus, the culmination of that line, comes as the ultimate Son of David to exercise His kingly power over the whole universe and, incredibly, to hand it on to us and make us sharers in His life and power.
When you were baptized, you entered the family of God in a supernatural birth more intimate than Solomon entering the family of David from his mother’s womb. Let nothing come between you and your royal and holy birthright.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of our royal heritage in Christ.
