Eucharist Nurtures Life

Vatican II’s “Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy” says the Eucharist is “the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the font from which all her power flows.” This ancient feast of Corpus Christi provides us the opportunity to recall and give thanks for the great gift Jesus left, namely His real sacramental presence in the Eucharist. John’s Gospel reminds us that if we don’t participate in the Eucharist we have no life within us. And those who do receive Him can find eternal life.

On this great feast let’s be filled with joy and renew our gratitude to Christ and His Church for all their gifts to us. May we always receive the Eucharist worthily, knowing it’s our spiritual food for salvation.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, may I always hunger for You, the Bread of Life.
