Mass Readings: Genesis 37:3-4,12-13a,17b-28a/Matthew 21:33-43,45-46
A Scattered Prayer Life
This morning I was going over today’s Mass readings and when I reached the verse that begins “when Rueben heard this” the only thing I could think about was the sandwich with the same name. A Reuben! Boy, that sounds good. I haven’t had one of those since I don’t know when. With chips. And a pickle. What am I going to have for lunch?
I’m pretty sure that God sees my prayer life the same way I used to see conversations with my kids when they were little. Or with my grandkids now. Those talks are . . . scattered. And delightful. I love hearing what they have to say, no matter how hop-scotch those chats might be. That’s an accurate description. I’m a “hop-scotch” prayer.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for always listening.
