Pass it on: We’re celebrating religious education Parents, teachers, catechists, DREs, youth group leaders and so many other people are dedicated to the faith formation of children and adults alike, playing a vital role in passing on our Catholic Faith. In a special way this week, the Church is celebrating efforts at the parish level with Parish Religious Education Week.

"Parish Religious Education Week is not an effort to recruit catechists or ensure enrollment," said the OSV Editorial Board in the Nov. 3 editorial. "Instead, it is a great opportunity to appreciate how vital parish religious education is for our Catholic community. It is a great opportunity to appreciate and pray for the directors, staff members and catechists who make the sacrifices necessary each week to educate, inspire and evangelize our children, teens and adults. Parish Religious Education Week is fundamentally a reminder to the entire parish that our No. 1 task is to pass on the Faith."
