Let my prayer come before you, Lord. — Psalm 88:3
Mass Readings: Job 3:1-3,11-17,20-23 / Matthew 18:1-5,10
It seems to me that most of the time I consider my guardian angel as an insurance policy: something I always have, but don’t really appreciate until something bad happens. When an oncoming vehicle veers into my lane and suddenly darts away or the turbulence subsides on a airline flight, then I offer a prayer of thanks to my guardian angel, but seldom do at other times.
But he’s always watching over me, and not just for my physical health. He works with the Holy Spirit to guide me away from temptation. He whispers alternatives when I’m set on doing something sinful. He desires that I be with him in heaven, so that one day both of our joys may be complete.
Prayer: Dear Guardian Angel, thank you for safeguarding my steps toward God.
