Go out to all the world and tell the Good News. — Mark 16:15
Mass Readings: Ephesians 2:19-22 / John 20:24-29
Doubting Thomas holds a special place in my heart because our oldest child is named for him. It seemed like the perfect choice for our adopted son because it took a giant leap of faith to accept what God was asking us to do.
We all have those times, throughout our lives. Some are huge. Others more everyday, but still challenging. We want to trust Our Lord and we pray that we will but the moment comes when, as my then-3-year-old granddaughter once pointedly asked me: “Yes or no?” Not “maybe,” not “later,” not “we’ll see.” Faith demands a clear (even if it’s a slightly quivering) “yes.”
Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me the courage to say “yes.”
