Their message goes out through all the earth. — Psalm 19:5
Mass Readings: Ephesians 2:19-22 / Luke 6:12-16
It seems like before important decisions or events, Jesus went up the mountain to pray. In today’s Gospel, after praying all night, He selected the 12 apostles among whom were today’s saints, Simon and Jude.
In retrospect, I must admit that some of my own significant decisions were based on emotions and personal desires. I wasn’t thinking of God when I decided to wed or adopt my children. These major decisions were based on my own, and my husband’s, desire for fulfillment. In truth, I’m afraid that it has been “my will be done.” I’m older now, and hopefully a little wiser. I know that taking the time to pray can make all the difference when confronted with life’s challenging problems. Thy will be done.
Prayer: Lord, help us to discern Your will when at a crossroad in life.
