The glory of the Lord is higher than the skies. — Psalm 113:4
Mass Readings: Ezekiel 9:1-7;10:18-22 / Matthew 18:15-20
When my husband Bill and I began the Friends of St. John the Caregiver we quickly decided the membership part of the organization would have only one requirement: a promise to pray for caregivers and those receiving care. Now, almost five years later, we’ve seen how much individuals and families who are helping a loved one appreciate being assured, “You’re being prayed for by FSJC members around the world.”
The “two or three gathered together” in Jesus’ name don’t have to be physically together for Christ to be “in the midst of them.” When you ask someone to pray for your intention or when you agree to pray for his or hers, the two of you — no matter how far apart you may be physically — become “the two” and Jesus is there.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help all those for whom I have promised to pray and bless all those who are praying for me.
