January 25, Conversion of St. Paul

Go out to all the world and tell the Good News.-- Mark 16:15

Mass readings: Acts 22:3-16 or 9:1-22 / Mark 16:15-18

Daily Conversion

I have often referred to St. Paul as the poster child for conversion because he was transformed from a persecutor of Christians into one of history's most powerful promoters of Jesus Christ. Essentially, Saul of Tarsus fell in love with the One he was persecuting.

Like St. Paul, we're invited by Jesus to experience a deeper transformation every day. As Catholics, we can fall more deeply in love with Christ through our participation in the sacraments. Conversion of our hearts is an ongoing process that's accomplished day by day. When I think of going to confession in these terms, it makes it easier to go. When I remember that going to Mass is the best way to become like Jesus, I get more out of it. What about you?

Prayer: Lord, change us, transform us and make us more like You, our Beloved.
