January 24, Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Your words, O Lord, are Spirit and life.-- John 6:63

Mass readings: Nehemiah 8:2-4,5-6,8-10 / 1 Corinthians 12:12-30 or 12:12-14,27 / Luke 1:1-4;4:14-21

One Body, Many Parts

Today's passage from the First Letter to the Corinthians beautifully articulates how important each one of us is in the Body of Christ and how every gift and talent we've been given can be used by God.

When I was younger, I struggled horribly with low self-esteem and thought that nothing I did was good enough, so I didn't try. I knew that I loved to write but I had no confidence in my abilities. Slowly and carefully the Lord has led me on a healing path that has involved embracing His Spirit and accepting the many gifts He's given me. Today I'm a published author and inspirational speaker! We're all gifted and each one of us is needed. Let God show you how.

Sweet Spirit, we are all one in the Body of Christ.

Prayer: Show me my purpose.
