Have mercy on me, God, have mercy.--Psalm 57:2
Mass readings:1 Samuel 24:3-21 / Mark 3:13-19
St. Vincent Pallotti (1795-1850), whose memorial we celebrate today, was completely devoted to pastoral work. He accomplished outstanding feats during his priesthood by establishing schools, guilds, and institutes, and founding two congregations. He was known for his zeal and ability to inspire others.
Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed this the Year of the Priest to celebrate the vocation of priestly life and those priests in our midst. It's not an easy time in history to be a priest so let's remember this year to offer prayers, Masses and spiritual bouquets for our priests. Our prayers can help them stay devoted to their call.
Prayer: Dear Blessed Mother, watch over your priests and recommend them to your Son always.
