My mouth shall be filled with your praise, and I will sing your glory!-- Psalm 71:(see 8)
Mass readings: Judges 13:2-7,24-25 / Luke 1:5-25
We can become so used to living in amazing times that we often fail to appreciate what, until recent history, was unimaginable. Travel across the globe is an everyday occurrence. Communication via the Internet is instantaneous. Medical science cures many illnesses and extends lives. In the same way, we can become so used to the idea of an all-powerful God that we don't stop and consider what that truly means. He can do anything, as the births of Samson and John the Baptist demonstrate.
Too often we limit God because our vision is clouded or stunted. However, if God can choose to become human to save us, there are clearly no limits not only to His power but to His goodness.
Prayer: Father, help me better appreciate the magnificence of Your love.
