Listen and Observe

Jesus' words to the woman in today's Gospel are encouraging for all of us. He's not saying Mary isn't blessed for being His mother but He's stressing that any of us -- including you and me -- can be blessed if we: 1. ''Hear the word of God.'' And 2. ''Observe it.''

How can I better hear it? Paying attention at Mass. Reading Scripture. Slowing down when I pray. Spending time in the adoration chapel. And on and on. How can I better observe it? By living the life God wants me to live, day by day. By becoming the person God created me to become, day by day. The closer I get to that, the more blessed, the more joyful, I'll be.

Prayer: Holy Mary, Mother of God, help me grow in holiness today.
