Alleluia!
Mass readings: Joshua 3:7-10,11,13-17 / Matthew 18:21-19:1
Today I read this in the obituary of Robert Scott, governor of North Carolina from 1969 to 1973: ''Scott spent much of his time trying to hold the state together during social unrest and anti-war demonstrations. In May 1969, racial violence on one campus resulted in a fatality. Scott said his biggest accomplishment was preventing worse. 'The real story of our administration will probably never be told because it didn't happen,' Scott said. 'We spent an enormous amount of time and energy to put out the fires, both figuratively and literally.'''
Today Jesus uses the Parable of the Wicked Servant to stress the importance of forgiveness. Isn't much of my life about what doesn't happen, because I forgive someone or someone forgives me without speaking a word? Isn't that how we're called to love?
Prayer: Father, You've forgiven me so often! I resolve to love others as You've loved me.
