The Way

You probably know that the early Christians called themselves the people of ''The Way.'' Amusingly, after Saul's blinding vision from God in today's reading, he is sent to a street in Damascus called Straight where he is to wait for the Lord's messenger. How about that for godly directions? Go Straight and wait for the Way!

God's messages aren't always that blunt, but His guidance is always there, straightforward and genuine. In Spanish, the word ''camino'' is both a noun and a verb. The noun translates as ''the way'' -- and the verb tense literally means ''I walk.'' That's my task, to walk toward God -- to seek and to be a person of ''The Way.''

My Lord Jesus, give me strength for today's journey.
