A Life of Humility

My theology professor once said, ''God uses us as His instruments for His mission. He has a specific plan for each of us.'' Today's Gospel portrays Mary's response to God's mission as a humble and obedient servant of the Lord.

In all humility and trust, Our Lady totally surrendered herself to the will of God and made possible the fulfillment of His plan of salvation for all humankind. As we reflect on today's Gospel, let's desire to make Mary as our model and guide, and to emulate her life of humility and complete surrender. Let today's solemnity be an occasion for us to humbly ask our Mother to intercede for us that we may receive that same grace of being humble in accepting the will of God in our daily life, be it in moments of joy or sorrow.

Prayer: Hail Mary, full of grace, help me be more like you.
