My Daily Visitor Home
Even when I have five pairs of reading glasses scattered around the house, I get worried and antsy when the very pair I've been using is gone. I'll spend the better part of 30 minutes scouring the house. I look, convinced that around the next corner my missing glasses will appear, right where I left them; on the sofa, in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink. It feels like such a victory when I find them.
When Jesus describes the joy of finding the lost sheep, as He does in today's reading from Luke, I try to imagine what the Good Shepherd's joy might be like when He ''finds'' us. He has so many people to love. There's no real need for Him to come looking for us. But He wants to because He loves us.
Tender Shepherd, how fortunate we are that
You continually come looking for us.
