One thing I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord. — Psalm 27 (see 4)
Mass Readings: Acts 5:34-42/John 6:1-15
Here comes the day. What can you bring to it? Perhaps you’re not feeling one hundred percent, but you have children at home with a myriad of needs and demands. Maybe you have an important meeting at work, and you’re only “sort of” prepared. Or there’s something you dread just a little: a doctor appointment or a social engagement or another day of taking care of an ailing spouse or friend.
Read today’s Gospel and take courage. Bring your “two fish and five barley loaves” to the intimidating responsibilities of your day, and believe that the Lord, who knows your heart, will make them sufficient. And as He gives you the strength to feed others, you will find your own spirit nourished. Yes, it’s a miracle.
Prayer: Here I am, Lord. Help me feed the ones who need me.
