Once again, Pope Francis is rallying the world to join together in prayer for those suffering in the world, this time to aid the 842 million people around the globe who are affected by hunger. The pope will launch the worldwide Caritas Internationalis-sponsored event at noon local time on Tuesday, Dec. 10, on the Pacific Island of Samoa.
The “wave of prayer” will travel around the world, returning to the island approximately 24 hours and more than 164 countries later.
As we continue preparations for Christmas festivities, Pope Francis offers this important reminder that we need to remember those who among us who have little or nothing. Participation in the wave of prayer is simple:

The wave of prayer, however, is just the beginning. It is the starting point of a longer campaign — one human family, food for all — sponsored by Caritas Internationalis and supported by Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities USA.
