As we practice our Lenten sacrifices we should be learning what we can live without today so that we can have a something better tomorrow.
Jesus reminds us that we are entrusted with the message of reconciliation. We must identify with the prodical son's father and forgive absolutely.
The point of our past is to point us to our future. The past is a blueprint for what we are called to build: the Kingdom of God.
As a believing people, we want to be close to God. God has been with us and He will be with us, thus "Emmanuel," "God with us."
