Perhaps Newtown will serve as a reminder that we as a community are called to stand with those who are hurting, those who are grieving, those who have no voice.
The bishops again remind us that our priority must be to protect the innocent and the most vulnerable among us.
In a society trending ever more toward secular and utilitarian values, our culture easily confuses murder via euthanasia with ‘mercy’ and ‘choice.’
This was the year the mob went digital, illustrating the threats to reputations and character that such group-think mechanisms pose.
