Readers, submit your entries for Our Sunday Visitor’s 27th annual “Christmas Memories” feature.
Issue date: Dec. 19, 2010
Entry deadline: Nov. 22, 2010
We will accept entries in three categories:
Christmas Past: A true and original story about a Christmas past that was especially meaningful to the writer. It must be a concisely written and unpublished personal recollection. Preference will be given to stories that reflect a dimension of renewed faith and strength of spirit.
Christmas in Uniform: Same guidelines as above, but the story must relate directly to active military service.
Christmas Poetry: Poems must be original and 48 lines or less.
All entries must be typed or neatly printed. All stories and poems are subject to editing. Maximum length is 300 words. Only one entry per person. Entries become the property of Our Sunday Visitor Inc., and cannot be returned. Judges’ decisions are final.
Writers whose works are chosen will have their stories or poems published in the Dec. 19 issue of Our Sunday Visitor and on the OSV website (www.osv.com). They will receive their choice of OSV’s “The Unseen Power of Prayer,” by Michael McDevitt, or “The Church’s Most Powerful Novenas,” by Michael Dubruiel. They will also receive a free, one-year subscription to OSV’s The Catholic Answer magazine, OSV’s My Daily Visitor magazine or OSV’s Take Out: Family Faith on the Go magazine.
Entries may be submitted by regular mail, e-mail or fax. They MUST include the writer’s name, address and phone number. Mail entries to Christmas Memories, Our Sunday Visitor, 200 Noll Plaza, Huntington, IN 46750; e-mail them to oursunvis@osv.com (write “Christmas Memories” in the subject line); or fax them to 260-359-9117.
Thanks for sharing your memory!
