"Stewardship is the ability to share one's gifts of life, time, talents, and resources with others with no strings attached and no conditions." -- the late Archbishop Thomas Murphy, Seattle
Stewardship — the word is bandied about in parishes, schools, and pulpits all the time these days. So many Catholics have the preconceived notion that stewardship is just a gimmick to get them to put more money in the collection basket.
Stewardship should be a way of life for every Catholic, but most don’t have a clue about what being Christian stewards really means. In our new pamphlet "What the CHURCH Teaches: Stewardship," we explain Catholic stewardship in easy-to-understand language and offer suggestions for getting started at home, at work, and at the parish.
Stewardship lies at the heart of Christian life; it's not something we do, it's the way we live. You'll find a wealth of information and suggestions for learning to live Catholic stewardship in our new pamphlet, including the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy; practical ways to live stewardship, and a prayer for stewardship. The pamphlet lists additional resources, and we offer these online to help educate you about this important, timely topic.
