Theology of the Body
Pope John Paul II introduced his theology of the body over the course of 133 Wednesday audiences, delivered from 1979 to 1984. Briefly put, theology of the body teaches that the body expresses the person and reveals how men and women are made in the image and likeness of God, and it calls them to make a gift of self. Pope John Paul's wisdom has inspired a multitude of Catholics to delve deeper into this teaching through books, study guides and websites.
