Activity Two March 2008

Write a poem

Challenge students to choose one of the stories from the Gospels to write a poem about:

  • Jesus walking on the water
  • Bartimaeus being able to see for the first time
  • the little girl coming back to life
  • Jesus calming the storm.

Explain to them the difference between free verse and poems that rhyme. If necessary, give them a pattern to follow:

God told me that He loves me.
I know that it is true.
I also know another thing:
And that is God loves you!
