Our Sunday Visitor

Activity 1 January 2008

Create a "St. Anthony Scroll" by giving each child a length of shelf paper (12-18 inches is a good length, but adjust as needed). Securely tape thin dowels, unsharpened pencils, or chopsticks to each end of the paper vertically. The scroll can be rolled together from opposite sides.

Have each child to draw a picture of St. Anthony taking care of his pets, St. Anthony praying, St. Anthony ministering to Christians in jail on the scroll paper. Put the scroll in a St. Anthony corner, a quiet place where students (and teacher!) can go to listen to God! Variation: Have each student create his/her own scroll to take home and create a St. Anthony corner at home!
