Kids Corner June 2007

Even when your mom on earth is busy,

making dinner and answering the phone

and folding the laundry and feeding the dog,

your mother in heaven has time.

Mary is listening.

Even when your mom on earth is grouchy,

stuck in traffic and late for your soccer practice

and tired from work and ready to go home,

your mother in heaven is gentle.

Mary love you.

Even when your mom on earth is mad,

because you punched your friend and spilled your milk

and forgot your homework and whined,

your mother in heaven is gentle.

Mary loves you.

And when your mom on earth is happy,

kissing you, hugging you, playing with you,

holding you close to her heart,

your mother in heaven is smiling.

Mary knows the heartache and joy of being a mother,

and Mary loves your mom, too.

Dearest Mother in heaven,

hear us and grant us your peace, grace, joy, and love.

Inspire us, help us, give us hope.

Share with all God's children the gentle care you

bestowed upon your Son, Jesus. Amen.
