For whom have you been a “guardian angel”? Who has been your “guardian angel”? Describe a time when you were (or had) a “guardian angel.”
Scripture says, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrews 13:2). This passage is not about “being” an angel, but about encountering God (or God’s messengers) in others. When have you “entertained angels unawares”?
Good stewardship involves using wisely and gratefully all of God’s gifts – the every-day ones as well as the spiritual ones. Of what are you a particularly good steward?
When have you been a “guardian angel” for someone else? When has someone been a “guardian angel” for you?
Who “has your back”? Who do you depend on to support and encourage you?
“Love one another,” Jesus told his disciples – and us, too. When did you do something really kind and loving for someone who didn’t ask you to or, maybe, didn’t even know you had done it? How did it make you feel?
Sometimes during Advent, we choose names and try to be “secret angels” for friends or classmates. The “secret” part is trying to do kind things for the person whose name we’ve drawn without letting them find out who we are. Did you ever quietly do a good deed for someone else?
Can you be a “guardian angel” for somebody you don’t even know? When you pick up someone else’s trash on the playground or put a dropped paper towel in the restroom trash can, you make the environment better for the person who comes after you. Have you ever been this kind of a “guardian angel” for someone else? What other kinds of things could you do to make the world around you better for everyone?
Good stewards are people who take good care of the things they have been given. What things do you take especially good care of? Why?
