A lawyer in a large Archdiocese describes herself as “in the give-back” stage in her life, offering her considerable legal expertise to the Church for far less than the going rate. When do you think you will reach the “give-back” stage in your life? What will you give back?
Lent begins this month. Think about all the Ash Wednesdays you’ve experienced in your life. Which was most meaningful? Why?

Chances are you’re “too busy” and over-scheduled – hurrying from one thing to another. Any chance of squeezing in just one quick, limited, good deed – rescuing an older person confused by a computer program, helping a younger student prepare for a test, running an errand for a neighbor? It would be good stewardship!
What’s your “comfort zone”? Think of one time when you reached outside that zone and did something for someone you didn’t think you could do. How did it make you feel?
What will you do this Lent? Will you give up something or take on some good work? How will you be different if you persevere faithfully until Easter?
Who has been helpful to you this week? A teacher’s aide, a Scout leader, a playground supervisor, a friend? What did that person do? Did you thank him or her? It’s good stewardship when they help and when you say “Thank you,” too!
What makes you happy? In what ways do you make other people happy?
