Holy Father's Prayer Intentions

July: That there may be an increase in the number of volunteers to serve the Christian community with generous availability; and that World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia, may kindle the fire of divine love in numerous young people and render them sowers of hope for a new humanity.

August: That we may learn to respect God's plan for the world and become ever more aware that creation is God's great gift; and that the answer to the calling to holiness and mission may be fostered by careful discernment and constant commitment to spiritual and cultural formation.

World Youth Day is July 15-20 in Sydney, Australia.

A Prayer for Young People

Holy Spirit, grant to the young people who come to World Youth Day -- and all the young members of my family and parish -- a conversion of life, a deeper faith, and love for all. Enable them to build a new civilization of life, love and truth. Make them true witnesses to Your power and grace. Amen.

Glorious Pope of the Eucharist, you sought ''to restore all things in Christ.'' Obtain for me a true love of Jesus so that I may live only for Him. Blessed model of the priesthood, obtain for us holy, dedicated priests, and increase vocations to the religious life. Dispel confusion and hatred and anxiety, and incline our hearts to peace and concord. Amen.
