Greg Erlandson, president and publisher of Our Sunday Visitor Publishing and co-author of "Pope Benedict XVI and the Sexual Abuse Crisis," is one of a handful of American representatives at a Vatican conference on the role of the Catholic press.
His talk at the conference was covered by Catholic News Service, Zenit and Catholic News Agency (and if you can read Italian, by Avvenire, the daily newspaper of the Italian bishops' conference). You can read the full text of his presentation here. (All of the presentations are being posted here.)
Erlandson was also interviewed by Vatican Radio. The story and audio are here.
On this side of the pond, Deal Hudson at InsideCatholic has posted a reflection on Erlandson's speech, focusing on the role and limits of hierarchical oversight of Catholic media. It is an interesting read, especially for those of us working in independent Catholic media.
Check it all out.
