On Wednesday, May 19, Matthew Bunson and I participated in a live on-line chat with the newspaper's readers about the article published earlier in the day on "Pope Benedict VI and the Sexual Abuse Crisis: Working for Reform and Renewal."
The chat was more than an hour long, and involved many thoughtful and earnest questions regarding the crisis and the Church's response. The dialogue reinforced the importance of the book in providing a context for reading recent news stories and acting as a kind of navigation guide for understanding what Pope Benedict and the bishops have been doing to address the crisis and to make sure that such abuse will be much less likely to occur in the future.
