Countless Are His Blessings

Once I mentioned my need to count everyone of my blessings to a kindly priest, but he admonished me in no uncertain terms that I can’t count my blessings. “Why,” he said, “they are as countless as the stars in the heavens — the universe!” Uncountable, inconceivable by our finite minds, are the blessings our Lord God showers upon us all, every second of our lives. I understood what he was saying but still . . . .

It’s good to count, to acknowledge, the ones we can count and pause to realize even that list is a very, very long one. Today is a day set aside to remember and thank others and to thank God, Who loves each of us, personally, with an infinite love.

Prayer: Lord God, heavenly Father, please accept my humble thanks for Your uncountable daily blessings.
