Turn to the Lord in your need, and you will live. — Psalm 69:(see 33)
Mass Readings: Exodus 2:1-15 / Matthew 11:20-24
Rescued
There are so many ways the story in today’s first reading could have gone wrong! What if Moses’ mother didn’t make a basket and hide her infant son? What if Pharaoh’s daughter didn’t find the baby and save him? But things happened as they happened and the future leader of the Israelites was rescued and nurtured.
I imagine we’ve all had times when it seemed that everything came together for the best — even when it didn’t seem that way at first. For example, my parish is a merged parish, combined of three different parishes. The loss of their churches was painful and heartbreaking for many parishioners, but out of it came a vibrant parish full of new friends and new talents.
Prayer: Lord, help us live in faith when we don’t see Your plan.
