The Lord is faithful in all his words. — Psalm 145:13
Mass Readings: Ephesians 6:1-9 / Luke 13:22-30
After recent open-heart surgery, I spent one month in a rehab center for therapy. One Sunday, while at the front entrance awaiting my daughter’s visit, I realized how fortunate I was to have a caring family member. My daughter faithfully came to see me.
Many of the folks who resided there, looked longingly down the hall toward the front door and no one ever came. It’s so easy to forget those who are no longer in the mainstream. They suffer the poverty of loneliness. Let’s not abandon our beloved elders. Are there some you know who are waiting at the door? If so, go in haste to see them. They are Jesus in disguise.
Prayer: Lord, help me to comfort the lonely, especially those in my own family.
