You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.--Psalm 2:7
Mass readings: Acts 13:26-33 / John 14:1-6
I admit it. As a stereotypical man, I sometimes have persisted in driving rather than stopping to ask directions. Sometimes I'm lucky and I find a sign for the road I want; other times, I wind up hopelessly lost.
In today's Gospel reading, Jesus announces to His disciples that He's going to prepare a spot for them in His Father's house of many dwelling places. Then Jesus states bluntly, ''Where I am going you know the way.'' Thomas, the practical apostle, wonders how that's possible. (Unlike me, he wants to double check the directions!) Then Jesus assures His followers, including us: ''I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.''
Prayer: Lord Jesus -- Way, Truth and Life --lead me to eternal life.
