Proclaim his marvelous deeds to all the nations.-- Psalm 96:3
Mass readings: Isaiah 62:1-5 / 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 / John 2:1-11
Today's second reading highlights some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The important thing to remember about these gifts is that they're given by the Giver to be given away. They're meant to be used to build up others and the Church, not to be kept for our own sanctification. Another word for these gifts is ''charisms'' and we're all given one or more of them.
The Holy Spirit is alive and active now just as He was in the early Church. If you haven't prayed to the Holy Spirit lately, do so and ask Him which gifts He wants to give you and how He wants you to use them to benefit others. The fire of God's love will surely spread throughout the world as we discern our spiritual gifts.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, stir into flame the gifts that You have given me to serve others in love.
