Let the clouds rain down the Just One, and the earth bring forth a Savior.-- Isaiah 45:8
Mass readings: Isaiah 45:6-8,18,21-25 / Luke 7:18-23
When we're job hunting, we usually need a resume that shows possible employers our education, previous experience, and talents. Although God needs no resume, we hear about His qualifications in today's readings. Through Isaiah, God speaks to the Hebrews about all the things He's done for them. Similarly, Jesus tells John the Baptist's disciples His many works.
These days people are preparing their resumes for earning a livelihood, but what time do we spend preparing our resume for eternal life? Is that summary filled with good deeds, proper attitudes and prayerfulness or . . . more of a pretty-much blank slate of good intentions and ideas never fulfilled?
Prayer: Father, help me to concentrate more on You and less on the world.
