December 2, Wednesday Advent Weekday

I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.-- Psalm 23:6

Mass readings: Isaiah 25:6-10 / Matthew 15:29-37

God Provides for Us

People often worry how to adequately provide for themselves and their families. Concerns exist for our immediate daily necessities and those more long-term and future needs. Our thoughts often lead to much consternation and fear. Today we hear of the need to have greater confidence in the power and presence of God to assist us. Isaiah speaks of a rich banquet and Jesus provides for those in His company.

Too often we fail to exercise our faith and believe in the power of the Lord to assist us. We seek every human avenue and forget what God can do for us. Let us be aware that God cares for His children and will never abandon us. In Proverbs 3:5 we read: ''Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not.''

Prayer: Lord, help me to always place my trust and confidence in You.
