The Lord remembers his covenant forever.--Psalm 105:8
Mass readings: Exodus 3:13-20 / Matthew 11:28-30
Today's the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a special day for me since I volunteer at a Carmelite monastery where 16 cloistered nuns live, supporting God's people with constant, intense prayer. Having renounced the world, they're truly the brides of Christ whose gaze is fixated on Him and His kingdom. Some people say they're out of touch with reality, but that's just not true. Daily, they correspond with people from around the globe who seek them for prayer, advice and support. The nuns might not be mingling in crowds, but their hearts are always on the pulse of the needy.
In fact, months before you received July's devotional, the nuns were praying for you! When I accepted this writing assignment, I entrusted everything to their care! May their faith reap benefits in your life.
Prayer: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, thank you for quietly interceding with Christ's brides for us.
