Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullnessof peace forever.--Psalm 72:(see 7)
Mass readings: Isaiah 11:1-10 / Luke 10:21-24
Who doesn't like innocent little children? They have no guile in them and it's this quality that Jesus praises in today's Gospel when He says that the mysteries of the Kingdom have been revealed to the childlike. The reference is obviously to His disciples who had just performed many miracles in His name. They're called to be humble and willing to serve His people selflessly.
God's kingdom is built on justice and peace but who can build this Kingdom? Not the proud-hearted or the self-righteous but those who obey His commandments and wait for Him in joyful hope. God became a little child to enter into our world; our becoming childlike is a sure way to enter into His kingdom.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to be humble like a child.
