I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.--Psalm 27:13
Mass readings: Job 19:21-27 / Matthew 18:1-5,10
People today are so busy that our guardian angels, God's special messengers, are working overtime to assure we stay on the straight and narrow path. My childhood confidence that a guardian angel was beside me at every turn has never left me. Too often today, people are too ''sophisticated'' to believe that God has assigned someone to look out for us. We have a tendency to look down on those of simple faith.
In today's Gospel, St. Matthew reminds us that while we mature physically and intellectually, we must never lose the faith we had as children. Yes, the angels, who behold God's face, are here to protect and guide us. May we acknowledge their presence and assistance this day.
Prayer: Angel of God, be with me always, today and each day of my life.
