Be Persistent in Prayer

I once had a boss who was a micromanager who wanted to know everything I was doing. He'd give me an assignment and then ask me about it almost every day. He drove me crazy, but I have to admit that he got a lot of work out of me.

I think Jesus and the disciples felt the same way about the Canaanite woman in today's Gospel. She persisted. Let's be honest: She was something of a pest. ''She keeps calling out after us,'' the disciples complained to Our Lord but she got results. The woman badly wanted her daughter to be healed and she kept after Jesus until He did what she requested. There's a lesson there for all of us.

Prayer: Forgive me, Lord, for repeating this request but . . . .
